Points Suspension of Your Florida License

A conviction for a major offense, such as DUI or reckless driving, can result in automatic license suspension. But your license can also be suspended under Florida’s points system. Any combination of serious moving violations or minor infractions can put you over the threshold:

  • 12 points within 12 months: 30-day suspension
  • 18 points within 18 months: six-month suspension
  • 24 points within 36 months: one-year suspension
